GADDAFI DAN PENGAWAL WANITA

GADDAFI sentiasa ditemani pengawal peribadi wanita tidak kira siang mahupun malam.

PADA Jun 2009, pemimpin Libya, Muammar Gaddafi tiba di Rom, Itali dengan 300 ahli rombongan. Mereka menggunakan tiga buah pesawat Airbus. 

Seperti kebiasaan apabila melakukan lawatan ke luar negara, Gaddafi akan membawa bersama khemah gergasi Badwi yang didirikan di tengah-tengah bandar.

Beliau lebih suka tidur bahkan bertemu pemimpin negara asing di khemah itu berbanding hotel mewah.

Pada tahun 2007, Gaddafi bukan sahaja memacakkan khemah di kawasan lapang sebuah hotel lima bintang di Paris malah mempamerkan untanya di situ.

Senarai sisi eksentrik Gaddafi seperti yang dilaporkan akhbar Britain, Daily Mail termasuklah tindakannya membawa unta gurun Sahara sebagai sebahagian daripada rombongan pengiringnya semasa beliau melawat Perancis. 

Gaddafi memerlukan lima buah kapal terbang untuk mengangkut semua ahli rombongannya.

Gaddafi memacakkan khemahnya di estet milik jutawan Amerika, Donald Trump di New York semasa menghadiri Perhimpunan Agung, Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu pada September 2009. Gaddafi mengembara dengan membawa khemah bagi menonjolkan asal-usul Badwi. 

Masyarakat Badwi merupakan kumpulan puak yang tinggal di kawasan padang pasir di Afrika.

Khemah

Apabila mereka berkelana merentas padang pasir, mereka akan mendirikan khemah bagi bermalam atau berlindung daripada cuaca buruk termasuk ribut pasir.

Kain khemah itu biasanya diperbuat daripada bulu biri-biri yang ditenun dengan tangan.

GAYA Gaddafi tidak banyak berubah sejak berkuasa lebih 40 tahun lalu.

Dengan memakai gel dan rambut yang diwarnakan semasa tiba di Itali dua tahun lalu, Kolonel itu disifatkan media Barat mirip gaya Raja Pop, Michael Jackson.

Di tengah dadanya tersemat sekeping gambar pemimpin pemberontak Libya yang telah dihukum gantung oleh penjajah Itali pada tahun 1931. Beliau diberi sambutan negara oleh Perdana Menteri Silvio Berlusconi.

Pakaian Gaddafi sememangnya sering menarik perhatian. Beliau gemar memakai jubah yang panjang berjela dan mengenakan cermin mata seperti seorang juruterbang. 

Beliau yang memakai topi tentera, kelip merah dan pakaian lengkap seorang kolonel tentera masih mencuri tumpuan. 

Namun, pasukan pengawal peribadi Gaddafi, kini berusia 68 tahun, lebih memukau. Mereka memakai uniform khaki dan beret merah sambil menggalas senapang Kalashnikov buatan Rusia.

Kira-kira 42 tahun lalu, Gaddafi menggulingkan raja terakhir Libya, Raja Idris atas nama revolusi Islam. Beliau juga mengisytiharkan dirinya sebagai pelopor sosialisme Islam. 

Bagaimanapun, pengawal peribadi wanitanya itu tidak menyorokkan wajah mereka di sebalik burqa.

Menurut Gaddafi, mereka adalah simbol kepercayaannya pada emansipasi wanita.

"Wanita patut dilatih untuk berlawan, jadi mereka tidak mudah dipermainkan oleh musuh," kata Gaddafi.

Semua wanita itu dikatakan telah mengangkat sumpah taat setia kepada Gaddafi dan sanggup menyerahkan seluruh hidup mereka untuk lelaki itu.

Ternyata, dikatakan tiada seorang pun daripada mereka pernah meninggalkan Gaddafi baik siang mahupun malam. 

Gaddafi juga menegaskan semua pengawalnya masih dara iaitu syarat wajib sebelum dibenarkan bertugas dalam pasukan elit itu.

Malah, pekerjaan yang dianggap berprestij itu sentiasa menjadi buruan wanita Libya.

Mereka dilatih di sebuah kolej khas dan mengikuti program fizikal yang lasak. 

Mereka dilatih untuk menjadi pembunuh, pakar senjata api dan mahir dalam seni mempertahankan diri.

Gaddafi akan membuat sendiri pemilihan terakhir, namun ada khabar angin kononnya pengawal peribadi itu turut dikehendaki melayan kehendak seksual Gaddafi.

Wanita-wanita itu memakai lipstik, barang kemas, kuku yang dikilatkan bahkan kasut tumit tinggi tetapi ketangkasan mereka telah diuji berulang kali. 

Pada tahun 1998, salah seorang daripada mereka terbunuh dan tujuh yang lain cedera selepas kumpulan fundamental Islam di Libya menyerang kenderaan Gaddafi.

Gadis yang mati itu dikatakan merupakan pengawal kesukaan Gaddafi. Dia 'menerbangkan' dirinya untuk melindungi tubuh Gaddafi. 

Dia rela mati ditembusi peluru berbanding membiarkan peluru itu mengenai tuannya. 

Kehebatan Gaddafi adakalanya dipuji lawan dan kawan. Malah, ramai yang tertanya-tanya bagaimana Gaddafi, yang pernah dianggap oleh Barat sebagai bapa keganasan dan lelaki di sebalik pengeboman Lockerbie pada tahun 1988, diberi layanan istimewa oleh Berlusconi.

Sebenarnya, tidak ramai pemimpin dunia seperti Gaddafi mengekalkan kuasa dan mengharungi pelbagai tekanan sepanjang 40 tahun pemerintahannya.

Beliau menulis sendiri buku Green Book yang memaparkan pandangan politik dan teori sosialnya.

Apabila beliau berkuasa pada tahun 1969, Gaddafi sanggup menghukum musuhnya tanpa belas kasihan.

Pada tahun 1970, beliau sendiri mengarahkan hukuman gantung sampai mati dilakukan di tempat awam. 

Pada tahun 1977, beliau hadir semasa pelajar-pelajar yang memberontak ke atas rejimnya dihukum gantung.

Kuasanya bukan setakat di Libya malah diakui di seluruh Afrika. Dua tahun lalu, Gaddafi menjemput lebih 200 kerabat raja Afrika dan pemimpin puak ke bandar Benghazi yang terletak di pinggir Laut Mediterranean bagi menyokong kempen 'Penyatuan Afrika' Gaddafi. 

"Kita mahu tentera Afrika mempertahankan Afrika, kita mahu mata wang tunggal Afrika dan kita hanya perlukan satu pasport untuk mengembara ke seluruh negara di Afrika," beritahu Gaddafi kepada kumpulan itu yang datang dengan memakai mahkota emas dan pakaian kebesaran berwarna-warni.

Responsibilities:

§ Perform internal and supplier audits, including ad hoc audits to investigate quality issues so that root causes are identified and corrective and preventive measures are put in place

WELDING ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

·         Develop welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals (carbon steels, stainless steels, alloy steels, etc)

o   improve existing or develop new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures,

·         Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre-and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post heating requirements.

o   Prepare and review WPS, PQR, WPQ, Procedures and Quality Plan as per Specifications & Codes

o   Conduct procedure qualification (PQR) test as per welding procedure specification (WPS)

o   Organize and conduct welders  qualification test as per welding codes and client specifications

·         Coordinates technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers' compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification.

o   Perform random inspection on electrodes, filler wires and gas used for welding

o   Verify that control and storage of welding consumables and documents are in order

o   Review the performance of quality control systems established for QC, NDT inspectors and welders by

§  Carrying out random visual inspection of pipe fit up and weld joints and reject/accept as per acceptance criteria of technical specifications

§  Performing random visual inspection of structural members fit up and weld joints as per acceptance criteria

§  Performing random monitoring of  preheating prior to commencement of welding, and interpass temperatures during welding

§  Random check on non destructive examination of welds(RT/UT/MT/PT), pressure tests in accordance with approved procedures and QC plans

§  Random QC check on Post weld heat treatment of welds, heating rate, soaking time and cooling rate during heat treatment

·         Monitor performance of welders

o    On the basis of RT/UT/MT/PT inspection results and promote corrective action where necessary

o   Monitor all welders performance including the sub-contractors and their rates of rejection of each welder as per the codes and standards

·         Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.

·         Contacts personnel of other agencies, engineering personnel, or clients to exchange ideas, information, or offer technical advice concerning welding matters.

o   Liaise with client, authorized Inspector and third party on welding matters

o   Coordinate technical queries with project management team

 QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES

• Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in Metallurgy, Welding Technology; Mechanical or Materials Science.

• Experienced in NDT techniques (UT, RT, PT, MT)
• Sound Knowledge in various welding process and welding equipment

SLS business unit supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Reports daily to the VP APAC Region for all duties, in his/her absence to the VP Sale and Marketing

§  To be the single point of contact on all materials issues across the project.

Responsibilities:

§  The Manager is responsible for execution of all engineering required for system design, fabrication, testing, load out, transportation, installation/installation supervision and commissioning for the scope of Work for Project. The Manager is then overall responsible for all the engineering deliverables from a project
